DWC members,

We are very excited about our general meeting on January 30Gillian Thomas of the ACLU will be our speaker.

Her subject could not be more timely.

Ms. Thomas' new book, Because of Sex, is about the ten SCOTUS sex discrimination cases that created the legal architecture for workplace sex discrimination law today, and got us from 1964 to the present — as told by the women who brought the cases.

Her talk will link these cases to a more current discussion about #MeToo and the cascade of abuse allegations. Harassment, says Ms. Thomas, stems from a culture in which men hold power. To that end, she will also explore issues of discrimination and the absence of women in leadership.

Please join us for what is sure to be an enlightening discussion! And bring a friend!

In solidarity,
Alex, Gena and DWC

PS  The Strand will be there to sell Gillian’s book.
